The Hockomock Swamp, known as "The Devil's Swamp," comprises 5,200 acres and is considered to be one of the world's most active paranormal hot spots. Few people have dared to delve into the dark, mysterious, remote, spooky depths of the Hockomock Swamp...until now. PICK UP YOURS WHILE YOU CAN!
Hockomock Swamp was both worshipped and feared by Native Americans. Native Americans named the swamp "Hockomock" hundreds of years before. Hockomock is the Wampanoag word for "place where spirits dwell". The colonists considered it to be an impenetrable place with an unforgiving terrain full of topographical hindrances like briar, thickets, 12-foot high reeds, waist-deep swamp water. some were terrified of it. Legend holds that some English settlers ventured into the swamp, only to never return. This is why it was deemed the "Devil's Swamp."
This inaugural foray into the "Hock" will be conducted along the path of one of the few accessible areas in the swamp. The expedition member does not have to worry about "extreme conditions". You'll skirt some invernal tidal pools and puddles, but for the most part you'll stay on a beaten track. You won't need a machete to hack through the underbrush!! Just bring bug spray and wear long pants, a long shirt, a hat and comfortable hiking shoes that you are not afraid of getting a little muddy. We designed this tour to accomodate a 70 year-old person. If you can walk for two hours, you'll be fine. What we can not guarantee is if you can contain your level of fear!!! GET YOUR TICKETS WHILE THEY LAST!
